The FBI has launched a criminal probe into a January incident where Tennessee police stripped a man naked, then kicked and beat him while he lay handcuffed in the snow. The incident, recorded by a patrol car's dashboard camera, also reveals police repeatedly shocking the man, Darrin T. Ring, of New Johnsonville, Tenn., with a Taser and spraying him with pepper spray. For nearly ten minutes, the video shows Ring writhing and screaming in pain as a gaggle of officers shout contradictory demands at him. "If he even flinches, shoot his ass," one officer declares on the tape. "Roll over on your belly!" another officer then yells. Ring, 34, intoxicated but unarmed at the time, was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. Police had been responding to a report of gunshots in the area. Ring's injuries from the assault included four broken ribs and a punctured lung. Unable to make bail, Ring sat in jail for five months awaiting trial on the charges. Then in early July, his court-appointed defense attorney obtained the recording of his arrest and filed a motion requesting that the charges be dropped in light of the outrageous conduct of the officers. Occupy Wall St March of 14.10.11. At apx 6:30 am, it was announced in the General Assembly (GA) that Brookfield Properties was not going to force an eviction under the guise of "park-cleaning". Around 7:30 or so, the pent-up energy of the hundreds of protestors packed cheek to jowl exploded into two unscheduled and, as usual, unpermitted marches: one going north on Broadway, the other going south. This is footage from the south-bound march. In front of 33 Beaver St, the protestors, fed up from harassment eariler in the day, and being chased and herded by a phalanx of cop-cycles, decided to turn in protest and stand their ground. There were a good many hot-heads on both sides. As you can see, a few protestors pushed the cycles, resulting in escalation which suddenly resulted in a rush-attack by the police. Key points to notice here: 1) The protestor who you can see getting arrested is mostly passive. 2) The aggressiveness of the protestors in no way justifies the brutality seen here and in later clashes. 3) The Press is denied access to view and record the beating, arrest, and handling of this protestor. indeed, they are chased off with night-sticks. 4) The (green-hat) member of the lawyers guild was denied access to protect her client. The RCMP have been called in to review a case in which a surveillance video shows Winnipeg police beating and Tasering a suspect who appeared to be in the process of surrendering to officers. At the same time, Winnipeg Police Chief Keith McCaskill has announced he is removing himself from the review of the case as one of the officers involved, Cst. Ryan Law, is his nephew. According to Cody More..Bousquets defence lawyer, his face was beaten when Winnipeg police arrested the young man for leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle last February. The video, showing four officers restraining and arresting Bousquet, was released by the 19-year-old man's lawyer as part of a plea bargain submitted Thursday to the court. Charges against Bousquet for assault and stealing a motor vehicle were stayed after his lawyer showed a judge a copy of the tape, which was captured by surveillance cameras mounted on an auto-parts store on Notre Dame Avenue. Crown prosecutor Mick Makar told the court Bousquet was hiding his hands from police, which was why officers used force. The tape shows officers kneeing and elbowing Bousquet on the ground, then Tasering him twice. Bousquet pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting a police officer and operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner. He will do no more jail time, after a judge factored in 11 months time he has already served. He will also be under two years of supervised probation.

LITTLE ROCK POLICE BRUTALITY CAUGHT ON TAPE

A Little Rock man says he is the victim of police brutality, punched in the face several times by a uniformed officer, Lt. David Hudson. It was caught on video by a bystander and is now on YouTube. It happened the night of October 29th outside Ferneau Restaurant in Hillcrest to Chris Erwin, 40. Erwin's attorney, Keith Hall said, "Hudson roughly puts his hands on Chris, grabs the nape of his neck, turns his face towards his fist and the creepiest part of the whole thing is when you look at it in slow motion Hudson looks around and then begins to dole out his blows into Chris's face." Nine days later Erwin's face is still black and blue. He had to get three stitches at the hospital that night. Erwin says, "I will never forget the rage in his eyes. His eyes were solid white filled with rage, and if I was over there somewhere else in Little Rock on a dark street I have no doubt he would have killed me." According to the police report, Erwin and his friends tried to enter a private party inside Ferneau restaurant. He was asked to leave and refused and soon after a struggle began with the officer. Erwin says he did nothing wrong. Police spokesman Lt. Terry Hastings said, "People that would watch this video and say this is police brutality are obviously not getting the whole story, and we would caution them against that and listen to the facts when they come out...This officer may have been doing his job to the very best of his ability. He may have been trying to protect other ...
